The Super Bowl is only a few days away, and with the Steelers putting the final touches on their coaching staff, it’s time to turn our attention to the roster. This is not intended to be a predictive mock draft, but rather a glimpse at some of the prospects who may be available when draft day arrives. Fair warning: this mock draft will focus only on the top 100 selections the Steelers hold. A more comprehensive draft preview will be posted closer to draft day.
Round 1: Jordyn Tyson/WR/Arizona State
This wide receiver class offers plenty of options for the Steelers, but the drop-off after the top three of Carnell Tate, Makai Lemon, and Jordyn Tyson is significant. If Tyson is still available at pick 21, Pittsburgh should run their selection to the podium.
Projected as a top-10 pick entering the season, Tyson was hampered by injuries in 2025. Despite missing time, he still managed 61 receptions for 711 yards and 2 touchdowns. There’s no denying his talent, but his durability concerns make it likely he will slip slightly in the draft. At pick 21, Tyson represents excellent value for the Steelers. With three third-round picks at their disposal, trading up into the mid-to-late teens to secure him if he slips would make sense for Pittsburgh.

Round 2: Dillon Thieneman/S/Oregon
Safety is a clear need for Pittsburgh, Jalen Ramsey may not be on the roster next year and the options they do have aren’t appealing. This deep class gives the Steelers an opportunity to address safety early and they need to take it. Thieneman earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors after an outstanding 2025 season with the Ducks. With a 4.40 forty-yard dash and eight career interceptions, he may not make it to the Steelers’ pick at 53 if he continues rising up draft boards.

Round 3: Keionte Scott/CB/Miami
Joey Porter Jr. had an impressive season and arguably deserved to be an All-Pro this year, but beyond him, the Steelers’ secondary lacks depth. With James Pierre Jr. and Asante Samuel Jr. both set to hit free agency, adding talent at cornerback is a huge need this offseason.
Enter Keionte Scott, a 6’0″, 192-pound senior from Miami. He profiles best as a slot corner, bringing explosiveness as a blitzer and run defender, recording five sacks in 2025. His 72-yard pick-six and standout performance in the college football playoffs help solidify his stock here in the third round. Scott would be an immediate upgrade over Brandon Echols, who struggled repeatedly for the Steelers in 2025.
Round 3: Omar Cooper Jr./WR/Indiana
The Steelers double-dip at wide receiver, adding another playmaker to the outside. As of now, outside of D.K. Metcalf, Pittsburgh has limited options at the position. Calvin Austin’s production as a full-time starter this year was underwhelming, and Roman Wilson has yet to emerge as a consistent threat.
Omar Cooper Jr. is an exciting prospect, with 69 catches for 937 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns in 2025. What he lacks in top-end speed, he makes up for with his reliable hands, and impressive after-the-catch ability. At 6’0″ and 201 pounds, he will likely be a slot receiver at the next level. A trio of Metcalf, Tyson, and Cooper Jr. could provide the spark Pittsburgh’s offense needs heading into 2027.
Round 3: Keylan Rutledge/IOL/ Georgia Tech
Isaac Seumalo’s tenure in Pittsburgh may be coming to an end. The 32-year-old left guard has performed well for the Steelers, but he has frequently been mentioned as a potential offseason departure. With a promising young line including Frazier, Fautanu, and McCormick, Pittsburgh may look to invest further in the offensive line.
Rutledge’s size and athletic tools make him too good to pass up in the third round. The 6’3″, 316-pound guard would be a strong addition. While his pad level, hand usage, and footwork remain areas for improvement. He would be a great developmental pick for the Steelers to add even more youth to their already young line.
